This back house in the Palms area of Los Angeles was designed for a couple looking to share a property with their daughter and son-in-law. Specific attention was paid to the relationship of the two houses on the parcel and the ways that the design could provide privacy for both couples. The compact two-story accessory dwelling unit includes customized work rooms for each partner, a generous kitchen for the avid cooks, and a focus throughout on natural, sustainable materials.
