malibu it house
After losing their family home in the 2018 Woolsey Fire, these clients embraced the opportunity to rebuild something special. To avoid additional layers of bureaucratic review the new house follows the original footprint of the previous ranch house, but the interior layout, material language, and stylistic choices are completely different. Both the main house and the guest house open out to the backyard with large sliding doors. A sunken living room and custom millwork bring in a sense of play and coziness for the close-knit family.
This house was completed by IT House using their proprietary semi-prefabricated aluminum post-and-beam system, with EP as the project architect handling design, construction documents, permitting, project management, and construction administration.
